About us

Federal agencies release thousands of documents every week, setting new policies, issuing new regulations, and announcing funding for various programs. Much of that information is difficult to find or requires expensive subscription services, making it inaccessible for the general public. Our mission is to make all of the news about our federal agencies available to every citizen through objective reporting that results in more informed public debate.

The Federal Newswire publishes news and information about regulations, legislation, and emerging policies, and includes profiles of public officials, industry and civic leaders, and other stakeholders. We also welcome editorial submissions from experts, elected officials, and the general public.

Our editors search for original and verified federal government information, including public communications, official actions, and late-breaking developments, to bring readers the full picture of what is happening in their federal agencies.

Our reporting is supported in part by the Federal Newswire Institute, a non-profit organization to help fund news gathering and publishing about the federal government. Federal Newswire reports are available to the general public and other media free of charge in order to increase citizen awareness of government activity.
