Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) slammed President Biden for using his first veto in office to block H.J. Res. 30, a Congressional Review Act resolution to ensure that retirement plans make investment decisions and exercise shareholder rights based only on the financial benefits to workers and retirees:
“President Biden’s decision to veto a resolution that protects the financial interests of retirement savers will ultimately jeopardize the futures of millions of workers and retirees. The President says this bill would risk retirement savings by making it illegal to consider risk factors, but that statement is blatantly false and misleading. The reality is Americans are facing economic hardships and inflation brought on by this administration, and the last thing they need is President Biden leveraging their financial security to advance the Left’s Green New Deal agenda and other radical pet projects. Rest assured, the fight is not over, and I will continue to push back against this administration’s efforts to put politics over workers and retirees.”
