OSHA regulates safety and health conditions in most private industries. It also administers the Whistleblower Protection Program, which ensures an employer cannot retaliate against an employee who reports any safety issues, health concerns, or other secured activity.
The agency can assess a maximum fine of $7,000 for every serious violation of OSHA standards and $70,000 for a repeated or willful violation.
