During the meeting, Chairwoman Foxx said: “Ensuring the health and safety of the nation’s workforce is a top priority for the Committee. Unfortunately, under the Biden administration, OSHA has moved the agency’s priorities away from workplace safety and towards more top-down federal control over the workplace.

“OSHA’s most recent regulatory agenda includes a staggering 27 planned regulatory actions, including expanding the electronic injury and illness reporting rule, reviving the union walk-around policy, and rulemaking on heat illness prevention.

“What’s worse is that many of these planned policies appear to be more about aiding in union organizing than keeping workers safe.

“Several of the top-down federal mandates that OSHA is pursuing will also unduly burden employers, especially small businesses.

“The Committee will continue oversight of OSHA’s regulatory proposals to ensure the agency is fulfilling its mission without unnecessarily harming job creators and workers.”
