The following press release was published by the House Committee on Education and Labor on May 31. It is reproduced in full below.

On Wednesday, June 7th, at 10:15 a.m., the Committee on Education and the Workforce, chaired by Virginia Foxx (R-NC), will hold a full committee hearing titled “Examining the Policies and Priorities of the Department of Labor." Acting Secretary Julie Su will testify at the hearing.

“It’s déjà vu at the Department of Labor. Julie Su’s blatant disregard for oversight and anti-worker agenda is a carbon copy of Walsh’s playbook," said Chairwoman Foxx. “Just look at her record of mismanagement as California’s Secretary of Labor: She lost $32 billion in taxpayer money to fraud and implemented legislation that devastated independent contractors. As Deputy Secretary of Labor, she has continued to put Big Labor interests over the rights of the American worker. Our economy does not need more of these same harmful policies on a national scale. Members of the Committee have many questions for Julie Su about her tenure at DOL and her plans for American workers."
