Today’s NAEP scores for math and reading are a stark reminder of the challenges facing K-12 public schools. Across the board, student knowledge in critical areas of study is experiencing a steep decline. While prolonged school closures worsened this trend, the real culprit is the stranglehold that the teachers unions have on public school education.

“Union bosses like Randi Weingarten have conspired with politically charged school boards and administrators to implement one-size-fits-all policies that limit students’ growth and replace core academic courses with partisan indoctrination. In the process, an entire generation of students has fallen behind.”

“Education freedom is the key to reversing this trend. By giving students and parents more options to find a learning environment that works best for them, we can ensure students have a real chance to learn and grow.”
