Administered by the department’s Employment and Training Administration, the Pathway Home grants aim to close the gap between an adult’s release from incarceration and enrollment into a reentry program leading to employment. The grants will support efforts by local organizations to connect incarcerated people with providers of training and skills needed to obtain post-release jobs and comprehensive case management services to help them retain employment. Eligible adults are those whose release is scheduled within 20 to 270 days from the time they enroll with local organizations.

Authorized by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, reentry grants fund projects that serve adults convicted under federal, state or local law in support of the Biden-Harris administration’s strategy to lower recidivism rates and decrease crime. The Pathway Home 4 grants allow participants to maintain the same caseworker pre- and post-release and supports Registered Apprenticeships or other occupational training that leads to industry-recognized credentials in high-demand industries, as determined by local area need.
