WASHINGTON - Today, Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) issued the following statement condemning the Department of Labor’s (DOL) new overtime rule:
“Biden’s DOL has proposed an overtime rule that is misguided and partisan. This rule will stifle workplace flexibility, lump burdensome costs on job creators, and ultimately hold back the very people DOL should be supporting the most-working Americans.
“The Trump administration made significant progress-with massive input from stakeholders, workers, and business owners-to develop a balanced and responsible overtime rule that moved America’s economic engine forward.
“In true fashion, Biden’s DOL is throwing this progress to the wayside with a regulatory approach that is hurting American workers, businesses, and families."
